Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has stated that the conflict involving Iran cannot be considered over unless Iran’s enriched uranium stockpile is removed and its nuclear facilities are fully dismantled.

In remarks released from a CBS interview, Netanyahu said Iran continues to retain both enriched uranium and operational nuclear enrichment infrastructure despite months of military escalation involving Israel and the United States.

“Take It Out” Approach To Nuclear Material

Netanyahu took a hardline stance, insisting that Iran’s nuclear capability must be physically eliminated.

When asked how this could be achieved, he said: “You go in and you take it out,” indicating that removal may require direct action rather than negotiations alone.

He further claimed that Iran still maintains:

  • Enriched uranium stockpiles
  • Active enrichment facilities
  • Ballistic missile production capabilities
  • Regional proxy networks

According to him, while some Iranian capabilities have been degraded, “there’s still work to be done.”

Contrasting Signals From The US

The Israeli leader’s comments came alongside differing signals from US leadership. Former US President Donald Trump has previously claimed that Iran’s nuclear capabilities are already “militarily defeated” and suggested the US is closely monitoring the situation.

However, Trump also indicated that action against Iranian nuclear material could be taken if necessary, saying the US would intervene if required.

Pressure For Military And Diplomatic Balance

Netanyahu also suggested that he believes the US shares Israel’s broader goal of preventing Iran from developing nuclear weapons, although he avoided discussing specific military plans.

At the same time, he acknowledged that diplomatic solutions would be preferable but stressed that the situation remains unresolved.

Regional Tensions Remain High

The remarks come amid continued instability in West Asia, where tensions have already impacted global shipping routes, energy markets, and diplomatic relations.

Netanyahu’s statement underscores Israel’s position that Iran’s nuclear program remains a central security threat, even after months of conflict and international pressure.
