A Pakistan Army Mi-17 helicopter crashed near Muzaffarabad in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir
June 10, 2026: A Pakistan Army Aviation Mi-17 helicopter crashed near Muzaffarabad in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) during take-off, according to reports citing Pakistan’s military media wing, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR). Rescue and recovery teams were immediately dispatched to the crash site, but officials said there were no survivors.
The ISPR confirmed that the helicopter went down after reportedly developing a technical fault. While the military acknowledged that all onboard personnel were killed, it did not officially disclose the exact number of casualties. Media reports suggested that around 20 soldiers, including the pilot, may have been travelling in the aircraft at the time of the crash.
The incident reportedly occurred in the Neelum Valley region, where military helicopters had been deployed to monitor ongoing protests and unrest. The crash comes just days after another Pakistani military helicopter reportedly crashed in Balochistan, raising concerns amid heightened security operations across Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.
