The national capital has been placed on high alert following intelligence inputs indicating a possible terror threat, prompting Delhi Police and multiple security agencies to significantly tighten security arrangements across the city.

According to sources, heightened vigilance has been ordered at several sensitive locations, including government buildings, political offices, transport hubs, and crowded public spaces.

Security has been particularly strengthened around the Bharatiya Janata Party headquarters located on Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Marg in central Delhi. Additional armed personnel have been deployed in the area, while barricading and intensive vehicle-checking operations are being carried out.

Sources said intelligence agencies have received alerts regarding possible attempts to target prominent offices and crowded zones in central Delhi through methods including suicide attacks, vehicle-borne improvised explosive devices (IEDs), shootings, and coordinated strikes.

Bomb disposal squads, sniffer dog teams, and quick reaction units have also been placed on standby as part of the enhanced security protocol. The Delhi Fire Service has additionally been instructed to remain alert and ready for emergency response situations.

Police personnel across districts have been directed to maintain strict surveillance on suspicious activities, unattended bags or objects, and vehicles parked near sensitive zones.

Security measures have also been intensified in areas considered vulnerable from a law-and-order perspective. Local police teams are conducting random checking drives, identity verification exercises, and increased patrolling in multiple parts of the capital.

Sources further said all district police units have been instructed to coordinate closely with intelligence agencies and central paramilitary forces to ensure rapid response in case of any emergency.

Senior officials are continuously monitoring the situation and reviewing security preparedness across Delhi as agencies remain on alert over the potential threat inputs.
