The Byculla area of Mumbai was rocked by a violent road rage incident on Tuesday, April 21, 2026, resulting in the arrest of three individuals, including the father-in-law of former Indian cricketer and TMC MP Yusuf Pathan.

The confrontation reportedly began over a minor traffic mishap when a car driven by a man identified as Yusuf Khan splashed water on a pedestrian while passing through a waterlogged stretch. What started as a verbal spat quickly escalated into a brutal physical assault involving bamboo sticks and other blunt weapons.

According to the Byculla Police, the accused group allegedly attacked Yusuf Khan and his family members, leaving several people with serious injuries, including bone fractures and trauma. Eyewitnesses and CCTV footage played a pivotal role in the swift police action, leading to the recovery of the weapons used at the scene. The victims were rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment while the three primary suspects were taken into custody.

Following a formal complaint, the police have registered a case under the relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), specifically focusing on charges of assault, rioting, and causing grievous hurt. While the father-in-law of the former cricketer has been detained, officials are continuing their investigation to determine if additional individuals were involved in the premeditated nature of the violence.
