Netflix has released its latest What We Watched report, highlighting the platform’s biggest hits between January and June 2026. The report reveals that Dhurandhar has become the most-watched non-English film on Netflix during the first half of the year.
The streaming giant also reported that Indian content delivered its best-ever six-month performance, with several films and series attracting millions of viewers worldwide.
Dhurandhar Tops Netflix’s Global Non-English Film List
According to Netflix, Dhurandhar recorded 37 million views, making it the platform’s most-watched non-English movie during the first six months of 2026.
The film outperformed several international releases and strengthened India’s growing presence in Netflix’s global content library.
Its success also reflects the increasing popularity of Indian films among audiences across different countries.
Indian Titles Perform Strongly Worldwide
Apart from Dhurandhar, several other Indian productions featured among Netflix’s most-watched titles.
Accused secured 19 million views, making it one of the platform’s biggest Indian hits during the period.
Meanwhile, Made in Korea attracted 18 million views, while Taskaree: The Smuggler’s Web Season 1 registered 16 million views.
Netflix said these performances helped India achieve its highest six-month viewership on the platform to date.
Netflix Records Its Highest Viewing Hours
Netflix also announced a major milestone in its latest report.
Subscribers watched more than 97 billion hours of content between January and June 2026, making it the platform’s highest-ever viewing total for any six-month period.
The company said the record reflects continued growth in global engagement across films, series and documentaries.
Netflix to Change Its Reporting Format
Netflix confirmed that it will make changes to how it shares audience engagement data.
Starting from the first quarter of 2027, the company will publish its What We Watched report once every year instead of releasing it twice annually.
The move will provide a broader overview of viewing trends across the platform.
Global Series and Movies Dominated the Charts
Among television shows, His & Hers emerged as the most-watched series with 104 million views.
It was closely followed by Bridgerton Season 4, which recorded 100 million views.
The popularity of the latest season also boosted older installments of the franchise. According to Netflix, the Bridgerton series collectively generated 180 million views during the reporting period.
On the film side, War Machine became Netflix’s biggest original movie with 147 million views.
It was followed by The Rip with 136 million views, Swapped with 131 million, Apex with 129 million, and Thrash with 100 million views.
Non-English Content Continues to Grow
Netflix said that more than one-third of all viewing hours on the platform came from non-English content.
The report highlighted successful productions from countries including India, South Korea, Japan, Spain, South Africa, Poland, Brazil, Mexico, Norway, Thailand, Italy and Denmark.
The latest figures underline the growing demand for international stories as audiences continue to explore content beyond English-language productions.
