Saudi authorities have launched an investigation after an Aramco helicopter crashed near Ras Tanura, killing all 14 people on board.

June 28, 2026: Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Energy confirmed that at least 14 people were killed after a helicopter operated by oil giant Aramco crashed in Ras Tanura, located in the country’s Eastern Province. According to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), all 14 passengers on board were Saudi nationals. The cause of the crash has not yet been determined.

Officials said an investigation has been launched with the participation of relevant authorities to establish the circumstances behind the accident. The government has also extended condolences to the families of those who lost their lives. No additional details regarding the helicopter or the victims have been released.

The crash comes just two days after Aramco resumed crude oil loading operations at its Ras Tanura export terminal following a suspension of nearly four months. Saudi Arabia has recently increased oil and gas exports along with other Middle Eastern producers after an interim agreement eased tensions between the United States and Iran.
