A rare albino buffalo has captured the fascination of the public in Bangladesh just ahead of the annual Eid al-Adha festival( Bakra eid 2026). The massive 700 kg animal stands out dramatically due to its unique blond hair, pinkish nose, and cream-colored body.
Raised on a private livestock farm in the Narayanganj district near the capital city of Dhaka, the animal has officially been nicknamed “Donald Trump.” According to the farm’s owner, Zia Uddin Mridha, his younger brother chose the name because a distinct tuft of pale hair naturally falls across the buffalo’s forehead, mimicking the iconic hairstyle of the US President.
Mass Crowds and International Internet Jokes
Because the vast majority of water buffaloes in South Asia possess dark-skinned coats, this unique albino animal quickly transformed into a viral sensation. Hundreds of enthusiastic visitors have flocked to the farm daily. Many citizens even traveled from distant rural districts just to snap selfies and record videos with the internet star.
Despite the chaotic environment, the owner notes that the bovine maintains an exceptionally calm, gentle temperament. The online buzz quickly crossed international borders, prompting playful political commentary. For example, the official “Iran in Russia” diplomatic account on X took a humorous dig at the viral news, joking that the poor animal looked visibly distressed simply from being compared to Donald Trump.
The Economics of Sacrificial Festivals
In recent years, Bangladesh has seen a growing trend where uniquely large or distinctive animals become major marketing attractions before the Eid al-Adha holidays. However, the celebrity status of this particular buffalo will be short-lived.
