Pre-wedding festivities are in full swing for internet influencer and entrepreneur Anshula Kapoor, who is marrying her long-time partner Rohan Thakkar on July 6. Ahead of the main wedding ceremony, her step-sisters, actors Janhvi and Khushi Kapoor, hosted a vibrant, music-filled mehendi ceremony complete with lively performances and beautiful floral arrangements. Social media posts from close friends and family, including Sonam Kapoor, Rhea Kapoor, and Orry, gave fans a glimpse into the intimate, joyful celebration.
For the special occasion, the 35-year-old bride-to-be opted for a striking teal blue ensemble created by acclaimed designer Arpita Mehta. Sharing the look on Instagram, Arjun Kapoor’s sister revealed that her outfit was chosen to pay homage to the family she is marrying into, serving as the designer’s first-ever Patola-inspired bridal lehenga. The custom silhouette reimagines the iconic geometric language of historic Gujarati textiles through a contemporary lens.
Crafted in luxurious Bandhani Banarasi fabric, the fluid teal lehenga was paired with a statement dupatta featuring handcrafted silk Patola appliqué. The ensemble beautifully integrated two distinct artistic worlds by marrying traditional Patan Patola craftsmanship—a highly valued, 700-year-old double ikat handweaving technique originating from the Salvi community of Gujarat—with Arpita Mehta’s signature contemporary mirror work, kasab, and cutdana embroidery.
