Chennai Super Kings produced a dominant all-round performance to defeat Mumbai Indians by 8 wickets in their IPL 2026 clash at the MA Chidambaram Stadium on Saturday.

Batting first, Mumbai Indians managed 159/7 in 20 overs, with Naman Dhir top-scoring with a well-made half-century. CSK’s bowling unit kept MI in check throughout the innings. Anshul Kamboj was the standout performer with a three-wicket haul, while Ramakrishna Ghosh impressed on debut, taking a crucial catch to dismiss Will Jacks and later claiming the wicket of Suryakumar Yadav. Noor Ahmed also made an impact, removing Ryan Rickelton and Tilak Varma at key moments. Jamie Overton eventually ended Dhir’s innings, while Kamboj wrapped up MI’s lower order by dismissing Robin Minz and Hardik Pandya.

Chasing 160, CSK suffered an early setback with Sanju Samson falling to Jasprit Bumrah. Urvil Patel added quick runs with a brisk 24 before being bowled by Allah Ghazanfar.

However, Ruturaj Gaikwad and Kartik Sharma took control of the chase with a composed and calculated partnership. Both batters anchored the innings expertly, shifting gears at the right moments to keep CSK ahead of the required rate.
