Sadhguru described yoga as a scientific tool for inner well-being as thousands participated in International Day of Yoga events organised by the Isha Foundation across India.

June 21, 2026: Spiritual leader Sadhguru on Sunday said yoga should be understood as a science and technology for human well-being rather than a religion, philosophy or belief system. In a message marking International Day of Yoga 2026, he stated that yoga offers practical tools to enhance physical, mental and emotional health regardless of a person’s religion, race, caste, gender or background. According to Sadhguru, yoga helps individuals achieve peak performance and unlock their full potential.

As part of the Yoga Day celebrations, the Isha Foundation organised special yoga sessions for Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel at the Adiyogi complex in Coimbatore. Similar programmes were conducted for National Cadet Corps (NCC) cadets and Border Security Force (BSF) personnel at Sadhguru Sannidhi in Bengaluru. These events were part of a broader initiative aimed at promoting yoga and meditation practices across the country.

The foundation said nearly 1,000 free yoga and meditation sessions were held nationwide at educational institutions, corporate offices, healthcare centres, government establishments, defence organisations and community spaces. Around 50,000 people reportedly participated in the programmes. International Day of Yoga, observed annually on June 21, witnessed large-scale participation from citizens, institutions and public bodies, highlighting yoga’s role in supporting health, wellness and overall well-being.
